Years from now, you’ll remember this. Together.

Why This Moment Matters

Transition moments are teaching moments. This is when kids figure out who they are in new situations. This is when you get to say. "I believe in you. You've got this."

This kit creates the space for that.

Jessica Vidrik, founder and CEO of Milk & Coffee Kids sitting at a wooden table, smiling, with a notebook, orange mug, and flowers in vases in front of her, in a cozy indoor setting.

I'm a working parent. I'm often running behind. I second-guess my decisions. I worry that I'm not doing enough, that I'm missing something, that my kids won't remember the moments I thought were important.

But I also believe that small, intentional rituals can shift something. In your child. In you. In the space between you.

That's why I started this. Because that quiet morning with my daughter before kindergarten wasn't a fluke. It was proof that showing up with presence, even for 15 minutes, even imperfectly, is one of the most powerful things a parent can do.

I'm here because I want to give other families permission and a simple path to do the same.

Every kit we make is designed by someone who loves her kids and wants to get this right. I hope you feel that when you open yours.

With warmth,
Jessica

Ready Hearts. Confident Kids. One Beautiful Week Together.

Five days. Five moments. One ritual that changes everything.

That first day of school isn't just about logistics — it's about feeling ready.

We created five simple, beautiful activities — one for each day leading up to the first day. Together, you'll talk about courage. You'll make something to carry. You'll create a memory. And by the time that first morning arrives, your child won't just be prepared. They'll feel ready.

From Real Families

  • Playful, Approachable, Meaningful

As a mom to an incoming 1st grader, I loved watching my daughter engage with Milk & Coffee Kids because it gave us such a natural and fun way to talk about things that really matter - friendship, confidence, kindness, helping others, and all the big feelings that come with starting a new school year.

As an LPC focused on family systems, I also loved that the activities go beyond simply talking about these concepts and actually help children practice emotional skills in a way that feels playful, approachable, and meaningful for this age.

  • Our Pre-K Experience

OMG! ok so my son is 4 and was NOT ready for pre-k. As a working mom, with no abundant time to research and prepare, I bought this kind of as a last resort because I was dreading September. We started the countdown about 3 weeks before and the "Lean on Me" one was a game changer. The kid-sized chart with icons was his favorite thing, he carried it around the house checking off stuff like "put on shoes" and "backpack ready." First day he held my hand but didn't cry. didn't cry. I almost cried. he told his teacher "I practiced." I highly recommend this to any nervous pre-k mom.

  • Ready, Not Just Prepared

As an LPC and prior elementary school counselor, I know going back to school can stir up all kinds of worries in kids. This kit gives parents a low-pressure way to start those conversations and discuss fears that might otherwise stay bottled up.

The activities are thoughtfully planned and quick enough to hold my kids’ attention. Everything is beautifully crafted with quality materials; you can tell real care went into every piece.

For kids who struggle with anxiety, the guided visualization activities and intentional strategies are especially valuable: they build predictable morning routines and give kids practice with words to use to make new friends. It’s the kind of preparation that helps a nervous child walk in on day 1 feeling ready - not just prepared.
